Productinformation "Medieval Short Tunic Erik green"
Material: 100% Cotton
Manufacturer: Burgschneider
The tunic is a firm and gender-neutral part of fashion from antiquity to modern times. However, it has undergone many different versions and meanings over the epochs. Often, for example, the length of the garment indicated the social status of the wearer.
In ancient Rome, the nature of the tunic was usually limited to two rectangular cloth patches sewn together at the shoulders, while Vikings and Germans wore the garment much less airy with sleeves and often as a combination of under- and over-tunic against the cold.
The short tunic Erik gives an imposing appearance both without and with an undertunic, which is further enhanced by the heavy and coarsely woven cotton fabric from which it is made.
